Gutte Aussichten 2011: Junge Deutsche Photography

The Deichtorhallen in Hamburg - a museum that is dedicated to contamporary and historical photography - is worth the trip itself for its great bookshop ( Bring creditcards and a big car! !). Oh and...uh...the exhibitions are also nice.
Two weeks ago I visited the Deichtorhallen for the exhibition "Gutte Aussichten" that features work of the best eight German photography graduates. While beeing a photography graduate myself, I was interested to see what the competition in the neighbor country was up to. I didnt find everything as "Out of the Box" and "Experimental" as the exhibition venue wanted us to believe - the expensive and superclean presentation even balanced on"conventional" and "boring". But still there was some very likable photography, like Katrin Kamrau's installation, that sort of concluded the end of photography , and the work of Tine Reimer.

Check out the other participants here . Overall the presentations were very clean and professional - I like to see something similar in the Netherlands as well!
